What is Play Therapy:
Play is a child's natural language and so often expresses what words simply cannot. Play allows a child to be in the present, fully absorbed in the task at hand. Through play children learn to regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, explore feelings and promote problem solving and self esteem.
Play therapy is a form of therapy used primarily for children. That’s because children often find their emotions to be confusing and overwhelming; and may not be able to process their own emotions or articulate problems to parents or other adults. Play Therapy is a way of working with children to help them make sense of their experiences, feelings and behaviours.
While it may look like an ordinary playtime, play therapy can be much more than that.
At SafeZone we strongly believe that every child needs to have a safe and happy childhood. In order to achieve that, children need to feel safe and supported to learn how to express their emotions to thrive, develop and build resilience in life.
SafeZone provides a child-centred play therapy that is evidence based humanistic form of counselling and psychotherapy for children age 2 -10 years old.
SafeZone provides a safe space for children to process their emotions and feelings in an accepting, relaxed, safe & non-judgemental space; to promote a natural healing process. At SafeZone we are passionate about helping children to achieve the best possible outcomes.
